Public Transportation helps alleviate traffic congestion, conserve energy, and reduce pollution by reducing the number of vehicles on the road. Best of all, it helps you save money. The use of public transportation can save a commuter thousands of dollars annually. The average public transit commuter spends between $300 and $1,600 a year, compared to the cost of owning and operating a car at $3,300 to $6,500 yearly. The average car uses more than seven times the energy of a public transit bus and more than eight times the amount of intercity railways.

Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority
The MBTA offers a corporate pass program. With this program, employers purchase transit passes directly from the MBTA, then distribute the passes to employees. For more information, call 617-222-5218 or visit www.MBTA.com.
